Current and upcoming improvements

The Open Door relocated to our current facility in May of 2018. Since moving into this beautiful edifice we’ve undergone several upgrades and improvements. More recently we’ve begun our roofing project (in April). As a result of a compromised roof for these years we’ve had several leaks in our sanctuary and various parts of our building since we moved in. Today we’re pleased to announce that we have a brand new roof over most of our entire building!

Below is a list of additional improvements that you will or have noticed as well as anticipated projects coming soon. To God be the glory!

– Lighting project (2019): We contracted to have all of the lights in the building (basement included) and outside of our property to be replaced with energy efficient, up-to-date lights and lighting fixtures.
– Chapel (2019): Carpet floors were added to the chapel as well as painting to improve this space.
– Fenced lot (2021): A gate was added to our fenced lot to allow entry and/or exit to our parking lot from 7 mile. We also anticipate the damage caused to our fence on the west side of our lot to be repaired within the next 30 days.
– Landscaping (2021): Our landscaping project consisting of a major cleanup of our lawn and grass outside of our facility and parking lot was completed this week. You will notice a neatly manicured and trimmed lawn and a clear and clean parking lot free of debris and weeds.
– Painting (2019, 2021): Our sanctuary wall was painted in the past (by our own Sis. Edna Hill and her family owned company), but the leaking water damaged the paint job. Within the next few days painting and plastering will resume within our sanctuary and other areas where the paint and ceiling has been damaged. It is projected to be completed before June 2021.

Stay tuned for more additional major projects that will be announced early this summer.
