On Saturday, December 14th we had our first annual Christmas on 7 Mile event. It was a free community event that brought out church, family, and community members. We had giveaways bags, a smores table, hot cocoa and cookies, Christmas lights display, Christmas carols, free books for kids, pictures with Santa, story reading, crafts, and vendors. Christmas on 7 Mile was a huge success and it really ushered in the spirit of Christmas, joy, unity, and love right in our community.
There was such a joyful atmosphere for the entirety of the event; however, there were some highlights as well: Christmas karaoke, especially with Mrs. Claus, adorable elf costumes, countdown to the lights display, amazing vendors, smores the Christmas carols by the ODC Choir over the firepit, and words from Pastor and First Lady Evans just to name a few.
Thanks to all of our volunteers, event planning committee, and sponsors/donors for their help in making this a great first “Christmas on 7 Mile” event. Due to our huge turnout, next year this event will be expanded to include more activities, vendors, giveaways, lights, and additional enhancements that we’re excited to bring to 7 Mile.
