This Youth Spotlight this month is on Jada Steele! Currently a sales engineer and business owner, she’s also the daughter of Sis. Theda Annette Steele and she’s been apart of ODC from birth until she moved to college in 2016. She attended Chandler Park Academy High School and participated in Track & Field, Student Council (class Vice-President), dual enrollment, and the National Honors Society. When she graduated in 2016 she received a full scholarship for Track & Field. She wants the youth to know that her road wasn’t easy and although she’s spent 5 years dedicated to hard work (including two practices a day and training during the summer) she’s thankful for all that she’s accomplished. (Please read her accomplishments listed below).
Jada wants to offer a few words of advice to the youth: Focus on your studies and being involved in extracurricular activities while in high school Don’t get distracted from your goals and keep God first. Keep a good group of friends around you. “You are only as smart as the people you hang around”. Also college may not be for everyone and that’s ok! Explore different trade options like: electricians, lineman, barbers & cosmology, etc. (Most trade schools award scholarships).
Jada, we’re proud of you and thankful that you are continuing to work hard and keep God first. Keep striving and keep going in the strength of the Lord! We’ve got your back! ODC Youth Department, let’s light up this post in support of Jada Steel and all of our youth. #morespotlightstocome #ODCyouth #liftup #shinealight #supportouryouth
